Brief Description:  Bottom floors #1

I've spent a considerable amount of time working on the mod for the removable floors.

I think it's well worth the effort to make the floors removable for service and inspections down the road. The plans have you pop rivet the floors to the substructure. I reviewed numerous sites such as Brent Owens site (top notch) and went forward from there. After much dimpling, countersink and riveting, the nutplates for the screws were installed. I was a few short and will await my ACS order o finish off the nutpates.

There are several very tough locations to get at, but it is doable. If you are contemplating this in your build, do the work before everything is riveted together!!! I didn't take many photos of the nutplate installations, but the work can be seen when the floors are installed.

The flap blocks were drilled and cut, but there was no way I was going to get those bolted in place, no matter what I tried. After taking the flap assembly out, and then the floors, I found the problem. I riveted the wrong nut plates for the flap blocks! I'm not the first to do this, and probably wont be the last. I'll drill those out and rivet new ones in place.

The front foot wells and floor were clecoed, final drilled and then deburred and dimpled with the rest of the floor parts and pieces. The floors were also dimpled to accept the flush screws for the removable floors.
